MCGA Elections
MCGA
WANTS YOU
Interested in the
future of canola and the issues of the industry? The Manitoba
Canola Growers Association
(MCGA) is seeking MCGA members to stand for election to the
Board of Directors.
It’s a great way to get involved with an organization that is
at the cutting edge of the canola
industry. MCGA oversees the distribution of research funds,
promotes Canadian canola, and
represents canola growers in industry
matters.
Eight
MCGA members from around the province are elected to the MCGA
Board. Four
members
are elected every two year as a Director for a term of four
years.
An
eligible member is a member who has paid an MCGA canola
check-off deduction since
September
30, 2005 and has
not requested a refund in last two years unless after the
request for a refund, the member has paid the check-off and
maintained the membership for one full year prior to
September
30, 2007.
Nominations
must be received by the MCGA office on or before 4:30
pm October
31, 2007.
Nomination
forms must be signed by six eligible MCGA members.
Please complete a biography(for
distribution to eligible voters) by answering the
following:
- Describe
yourself to the membership;
- What
organizations have you worked for or supported in the past;
and
- What
role should MCGA play in the development of canola and its
products?
Due to
limited space, keep responses to 150 words or less. If
nominees provide longer
responses,
they will be asked to edit their
biographies.
Directors
represent all canola growers in Manitoba and
direct the operations and programs of
MCGA.
Each Director is required to attend regular meetings of the
Board (approximately six
per
year), committee meetings, and canola related functions as
required.
All forms must be received by
the MCGA office on or before 4:30 p.m. October 31, 2007.

ballots will be distributed from the MCGA office by
